Notes:
Designed as part of the multipurpose Mantua Community Center, the Mantua Branch opened on July 9, 1979. This photograph of volunteers preparing to plant a tree was probably taken sometime in the early 1990s.
The library was renamed in 1995 to honor Charles L. Durham, who was on City Council (and part of its first black caucus), and then appointed a Common Pleas court judge; he was a strong advocate for the community, and was deeply involved in the struggle for civil rights.
The branch serves the Mantua and Powelton communities.
