Media Type:

Source: Automobile Reference Collection
Notes: Evinrude Motors, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. WHAT MAKES IT GO – This cutaway photo shows the major features on the 1968 Evinrude Skeeter snowmobile. A 16hp, twin cylinder, air cooled engine supplies the power. A variable speed drive, which engages as engine rpm’s increase, transfers the power to the endless drive track. Other features on the 1968 models are reverse gear; torque sensing for hill climbing and heavy load hauling; disc brake; a neutral lockout for starting and idling; and improved suspension system; dual mufflers for quiet; and under the seat storage. The wide track (20.5 inch) Skeeters are available with either key-turn or manual starting.
