Title: Excalibur Series IV Roadster
Media Type:
Photographic Prints
Source: Automobile Reference Collection
Notes: Excalibur Automobile Corp., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pictured above is the Excalibur Series IV Roadster, which made its world premier at the Greater New York Automobile Show at the Coliseum, January, 1981. The two passenger roadster features a fiberglass body, stainless steel exhaust system, General Motors 5 liter V-8 engine coupled to a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 transmission and, for the first time in Excalibur's 17 years of automobile manufacturing, creature comforts never before available in this magnificent automobile; such as a power-assisted convertible top, power windows, six-way power seats and fresh air heating and air conditioning system. Other standard features are cruise control, stereo AM/FM radio and tape deck, a center driving light and dual side mounted spotlights. The Series IV Roadster is stylistically reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz 540K, which recently sold at auction for over $400,000...but, it's the rakish rumble seat that will take you back to the nostalgic days of motoring when an automobile was not just a conveyance, but a personal expression of accomplishment.
