Notes: De Soto Division, Chrysler Corporation, Detroit, Mich. As new as its name is the "styled for tomorrow" 1955 De Soto Fireflite series, which will be introduced for the first time at De Soto-Plymouth dealerships Wednesday (Nov. 17, 1954). This all-new four-door model is lower, longer, roomier and has the most powerful engine built by De Soto--the 200 horsepower Fireflite hemispherical combustion V-8. Completely new are such features as tubeless tires, "New Horizon" full wrap-around windshield, low-silhouette "forward motion" body design, "Flite Control" gear selector mounted on the dash. interior colors, fabrics and trim. Available also are such De Soto exclusives as Powerflite transmission, Full-Time, coaxial-type power steering, Power Brakes, and Airtemp air conditioning. The Fireflite line also incudes a convertible coupe and the Sportsman hardtop. November 15, 1954
