Built to the theme of "styled for tomorrow" the 1955 models boast a host of styling, design and engineering innovations. New from the tires (which are tubeless), to the top, with its "New Horizon" full-curved windshield, "Sun Cap" visor and beauty-curved rear window, the Fireflites are powered by the big new Fireflite V-8 with 200 horsepower engine, and the famous Firedome engine has been increased to 185 horsepower. The 1955 Fireflites and Firedomes are long, low, and roomy. There is a choice of 39 exclusive interior trim-fabric combinations and 55 color selections in pastels and brilliant metallics. Models include four-door sedans, hardtops, coupes, convertibles and station wagons. They are available with such De Soto exclusives as Powerflite transmission, Full-Time, co-axial-type power steering, Power Brakes and Airtemp air conditioning. November 15, 1954
