Notes: De Soto Division, Chrysler Corporation, Detroit, Michigan. New instrument Panel for the '54 De Soto Automatic -- A oompletely new instrument panel is one of the highlights of the interior of the 1954 De Soto Automatic. Instrument panel is directly in front of the driver and each instrument has a separate circular dial. for night driving, the instruments are edge-lighted so that only pointers and numerals are lighted for quick, easy reference. Heater, fresh air controls are just below the instrument face. Radio speaker has been moved to extreme right and glove compartment has been shifted toward the center for greater accessibility. Top of the panel is covered with moulded vinyl to eliminate reflections.
