Katsugawa Shuntei, 1770-1820

Kumagaya Jiro Fighting a Bear

Originally named Yamaguchi Chojuro, Shuntei was a pupil of Katsukawa Shun'ei. He produced book illustrations, surimono, ukiyo-e, and other types of prints. His subject matter included actors, beautiful women, battle scenes, warriors and landscapes.
