The Whitman Branch of the Free Library opened on January 24, 1977. The neighborhood of Whitman and its library branch derive their names from the nearby Walt Whitman Bridge. John S. Sabatino Associates was the architect for the Whitman Branch. This ca. 1975 image is a copy of the architect's rendering for the new branch.
