 "Many of the headlines and news articles on the press referring to my testimony before the Senate Libby committee on Tuesday, May 13, convey the impression that I said homebrewing or the making of beer in the home was lawful under the Volstead act.

"I made no such statement and the record shows that I did not...The provision in question relates solely to non-intoxicating cider and fruit juices.  It declares that the penalty for their manufacture exclusively for home use shall not apply when they are not in fact intoxicating"
