One of [the Gas Commission's] recommendations was that the present price of $1 a thousand cubic feet of gas be retained until a new lease had been negotiated....Now we have Councilman Hall, who voted for the appointment of the commission, setting up his judgement against that of the experts, and proposing that the price of gas be fixed at $1.25 for the next year.
