Notes: News Bureau, Ford Division of Ford Motor Company. (top): Ford Mark II-A - 1966 Le Mans Winner. June 19, 1966 - Three years of effort were climaxed at Le Mans when this Ford Mark II sports-prototype, driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, rolled across the finish line to capture the first American victory in the history of the classic 24-hour endurance test. (Bottom) Ford Mark II-B - 1967 Le Mans Entry. April 10, 1967 - The 1967 edition of the Ford Mark II that won the 24 hours of Le Mans last year showed some subtle refinements in the trials for the 1967 endurance test. Appearance of both tail and nose sections has been altered, the nose has been blunted, the air snorkels removed from the tail section, and front brake ducts relocated. Turbine-styled magnesium wheels now are used.
