Notes: A newcomer to Ford power, Don Prudhomme has won virtually every major drag racing championship in his career as a fuel dragster. He currently drives the Lou Baney car with its supercharged 427-cubic-inch single overhead cam engine. In winning a recent meet at Carlsbad (Calif.) Raceway, Prudhomme ran through the quarter mile in an amazing 6.92 seconds.
