THERE’S A FUTURA IN AMERICA’S FUTURE – For 1978, Ford introduces Futura – the first of a new breed – a unique, personal specialty car. The Futura complements the full range of Fairmont two-and four- door sedans and station wagons introduced to the public on October 7. A stylish sporty coupe distinguished by dynamic styling and high levels of comfort and luxury, the sleek Futura also offers an impressive ride, responsive handling and fuel economy rated best in its class by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. A 2.3-liter engine is standard with an optional 3.3-liter (200-CID) Six or 5.0-liter (302 CID) V-8. To be introduced to the public on December 2, the Futura has a suggested retail price of $4,044.
