Notes:
TURBO POWER FOR EXP, ESCORT – A 1.6-liter turbocharged, electronically fuel-injected four-cylinder engine – among the most powerful and efficient small engines ever built in America – will be available on the EXP and later in the year on Ford Escort. The silhouette on the EXP (top) has been altered dramatically by the addition of a “bubbleback” liftgate, and the car has an all-new instrument panel and interior trim. Escort (bottom, wagon version) is America’s bets-selling car and the best –selling nameplate in the world. New for 1984 is an optional 2.0-liter diesel engine with manual five-speed overdrive transmission. It is expected to deliver projected city fuel economy in the low 40s and in the 60s on the highway.
