AUTOMATIC TURBO COUPE – Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, the road machine that blends a clean aerodynamic design with luxury, high technology and all-round performance, is available with an optional automatic transmission in 1984. Powered by a high-output, turbocharged 2.3-liter engine with multiple-port fuel injection and five-speed manual overdrive transmission, Turbo Coupe offers an excellent blend of handling, fuel economy and performance, with zero to 60 mph times of about nine seconds. Other changes to the balance of the popular Thunderbird line for 1984 include renaming the Heritage series the Elan and introduction of a new theme model, the Fila Thunderbird.
