"The Mayor refers to a readjustment which he expects to make to protect his administration "constructively and politically." In this delicate way does he give notice to other men who have been dickering with the enemy that the time of reckoning is approaching and that those of them who are holding jobs under him might as well look for some other occupation in the near future. All he has to do to secure the overwhelming support of the best sentiment in the city is to continue the fight in the way he has begun it."
