SURE-FOOTED HANDLING – The new All-Wheel-Drive Ford Tempo (top) provides the extra traction and handling needed in adverse driving conditions while retaining the comfort of a family sedan. The 1987 Tempo is powered by a 2.3-liter electronic fuel-injection engine combined with a new-design automatic transaxle that features a fluid-link converter for smoother and quieter driving. Electronic fuel injection also has been added to Escort’s (bottom) standard 1.9-liter engine for improved performance. Styled road wheels shown on Escort are optional and only available on GL series.
