President Alexander C. Humphreys of Stevens Institute, Hoboken, N.J., congratulating the winner of the race, Anthony Meyerstein, and George (unreadable), who drove the only American entry, a 1904 Ford, and the 2nd prize winner, a Darracq, 1899, driven by C.L. Roberts and John Wyburn.
Five cars of are vintage were entered in the race which took place on Castle Field, Hoboken, N.J., before the start of the Stevens-Swarthmore football game.
The race was a rare treat, and the folks were convinced that the old time autos could run.
