Propeller shaft: Each Gaylord car is equipped with a statically and dynamically balanced rubber insulated propeller shaft, endowed with universal joints. The purpose of this shaft is to eliminate road rear axle sounds, which in many cases are transmitted through the propeller shaft, which in turn acts like a sounding box. The elimination of these vibrations and sounds adds to the almost eerie smoothness and silence of every hand built and hand tested Gaylord car.

The additional advantage of this design is the dampening of the initial torque reaction on the whole of the vehicle, thus giving longer life to the drive line, which is designed to exceed 100,000 miles of trouble free operation.

These propeller shafts are balanced individually up to 6,000 revolutions per minute, which insures an excessive margin of safety and gives supreme smoothness.

These features and others exemplify why we at Gaylord Cars Ltd. feel that we have produced the most highly refined personal; roadster in the world.
