"Judge George W. English was impeached by the House in 1926 for showing judicial favoritism and for failure to give impartial consideration to cases before him. It was alleged that his favortism had created distrust of his official actions and destroyed public confidence in his court. 6 Cannon §§ 544–547. Judge English resigned prior to commencement of trial by the Senate and the proceedings were discontinued at that point."
