TEN YEARS OF PROGRESS – Thelma M. Hill compares Buick’s first experimental Dynaflow drive (left), built in early 1946, with a current model. While the difference in size and shape of the two transmissions is not great, extensive changes have been made inside. Among the improvements are today’s twin turbine principle, variable pitch stator, and fixed vane stator – unknown 10 years ago – which have added so much to power, smooth performance and operating economy. Mrs. Hill, who has been secretary to the Dynaflow plant superintendent since that facility first opened at Flint, Mich., in 1948, lives at 3209 Green Corners road, Route #1, Lapeer, Mich.
