General Motors Motorama 1953-1956
Harlow H. Curtice, president of General Motors, looks happy as a kid on a scooter as he waves from the cockpit of GM’s experimental gas turbine car, the “Firebird” at the opening of the General Motors Motorama at the Waldorf Astoria today (1.20.54. The “Firebird”, first car of its kind to be built in America, looks more like an airplane than an auto. It is the star of the show. Today’s opening was a special preview. The Motorama opens to the public tomorrow.
