H.C.S. Motor Car Company, Indianapolis, Indiana. (H. C Stutz.)
Longer life and freedom from rattles is notably apparent in the construction of H.C.S. cars. Between the fenders and body is carried anti-squeak material so that the metal of the fenders does not actually come in contact with the metal of the body. This eliminates rattles by preventing them in the first place.
Another feature, individual to this car, is the aluminum running board which is built with very substantial dimensions. Cork gaskets are carried between the running board and the frame to prevent rattles. 1924
