H.C.S. Motor Car Company, Indianapolis, Indiana. (H. C Stutz.)
From Motor World December 27, 1923::
One of the objects to be attained in designing a car is bringing the load on the springs as close to the wheel bearings as possible. The goose-neck connection to the frame as used on the H.C.S. brings the springs outside the frame and also brings them close to the wheel bearings at the outer extremities of the axle. The kick up over the rear axle allows free spring action, yet allows of having the frame kept well down, a practice that is gaining favor among designers this year.
