"President Coolidge's bar on the expenditure of the $1,332,000 National Guard deficiency appropriation voted by congress for drill pay was lifted today. In an order sent to Secretary of War Weeks, the President directed that the war department notify National Guard officers that the deficiency appropriation would be available immediately for the financing of necessary armory drills."
