Morgens u 5 Uhr 54 Minuten und erhilt in der heilig / en Taufe den Namen Jonas. Getauft vom \ Ehrw. Prediger Theotoh John Faber. Taufzeugen \ waren Georg Laber u Ehfrau, die Eltern. \ Obiges Kind ist geboren und getauft in Ame \ =rica im Staat Pennsylvanien im Caunty of Lancaster \ in the township of Elizabeth.

Translation:

To these two married people, namely Georg Laber and his lawful wife Catharina, born Illigin, a son was born in the year of the Lord 1811, the second day of February at 5:54 in the morning, and he received the name Jonas in the Holy baptism. Baptized by the Honorable Minister Theotoh John Faber. Sponsors were George Laber and wife, the parents. Above mentioned child was born and baptized in America in the state of Pennsylvania in the county of Lancaster in the township of Elizabeth.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text, hand-lettered in German Fraktur with blanks handwritten in German script, is framed by a rectangular border. The county and town are written in English. Below it is a confirmation note in German script. On each side is a scalloped pot with a tulip, adorned with leaves, smaller blossoms and two scalloped flowers. Several rosettes and flowers are above and below the text frame. The abbreviation v d m after the pastor’s name stands for verbi divini magister, which means Teacher of God’s Word. Based on designs by Abraham Huth.
