Anna was born the 2nd day January in the year after Christ’s birth anno 1808, in Pennsylvania, in the County Northampton, in the Township Upper Milfort. The parents were Daniel Stähler and his wife Mari Lisbeth. She was soon after baptized by Mister Pastor Helfrich. Sponsors were Nicolaus Stähler and his wife Barbara.

To God alone be glory. Be faithful to God, keep His covenant, O man, in your life. Lay this stone as your first base. Remain given to Him alone. Think on the path in eternity, that He prescribed for you by your purchase in Baptism, to love you as a father.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The central text is within a large heart in the center of document, surrounded by flowering vines and rosettes. Two rosettes within square frames are in the lower corners, topped by two tulips. Below the heart is a rectangular frame containing additional verse. Two birds are perched on its upper corners, and various flowers are protruding from it. The entire document is frame by a decorative vine border. (Translation of text in rectangular frame is Weiser’s.)
