Johan Georg Merckel was born of Christian parents the 19 November 1771 in Pennsylvania in Richmond T. in Berks County. His father was Joh[an] Georg Merkel and the mother Magdalena, a born Braunin, and was baptized by Mr. Melch[ior] Schaum. Sponsors were Georg Engelhard and his wife Margaratha. Was married to Maria Stimel the 12 April 1796. Above married couple begot the following children together.

Joh[an] Georg was born the 22 November 1800
Solomon was born the 22 September 1802
Jonas was born the 20 September 1804

He died the 27 March 1816. He lived in matrimony 19 years 11 months 8 days. He brought he age to 44 years, 4 months and 8 days. He left behind 3 sons and 6 daughters.
