JESUM! \ Zum Neuen Jahr, \ Gott Lob daß Neue jahr, \ Ist wieder Eingetreten, \ Die gantze Christen=Schaar, \ Die Lobe Gott mit Bäten, \ Daß Alter und die Jugend, \ Laß Fried und Einigkeit, \ Regieren Jederzeit, \ Daß Haß und neid verschwinde, \ Die Liebe sich verbinde, \ Jetz und mit diesem Neuen Jahr, \ Ach HERR! mache mein wün= \ schen wahr. \ ANNO Domini \ 1798.

Translation:

Jesus! To the new year.
Praise to God, the new year has come once more. The entire Christian host shall praise God with prayers, the old age and youth. Let peace and unity reign at all times, that hatred and envy will disappear, that love bind, now and with this new year. O Lord! Make my wishes come true. Anno Domini 1798.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur is in the lower portion of the document. It is framed by an arch with two columns. On the columns and center of the arch are urns with various flowers. The arch is flanked by two flowers. The entire item is enclosed in a decorative border.
