Translation:
This little writing book belongs to William Mayer. Grant me a pious heart, you giver of all gifts. It shall be my riches that I desire to have, it shall be my embellishment, my fame, and most beautiful adornment. For being pious is held in high esteem by God and by people.

Hand-drawn, hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur within a rectangular frame is in the center of the document. Two lines are written vertically along the sides. Decorative scrolls are next to them. Another line in three segments is below the frame. In the upper corners are two angels with trumpets and flowers. Three flowers are in the upper center. In the lower center are an inkstand with a quill and a hand holding a quill.
