Translation:

The kingdom of Heaven is like a house holder who goes out in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. And because he agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out around the third hour and saw many others stand idle at the market, and he spoke to them, you too go into the vineyard. I will give you whatever is right. And they went forth. Again he went out at around the sixth and the ninth hours and did the same. But he went out around the eleventh hour and found others standing idly and he spoke to them, why are you standing idly here the whole day. They spoke to him, nobody has [hired] us. Matthew 20.

The first letter is framed by a reactangular frames that is enclosed in several additional frames. The remainder of the text, with the exception of the names and date, are in German script. The entire item is framed by a decorative border.
