Translation:
Hana Florin was born the [ill.] March, anno 1800. David. Written 1815.
[in left circle]
Honor your father with all you heart, and do not forget the birth pangs of your mother, and remember that you were born from them and what you can do for them for what they have done for you. Sirach 7, v 29, 30. David.
[in right circle]
My child, when the evil boys tempt you, do not follow them, my child, do not walk the way with them; keep your foot from their path, because their feet walk towards evil. Johanna Florin, October 17, 1825. David.
[in left bird]
In your youth you should keep to your work diligently, afterwards the work will be very difficult when you reach old age. Hallelujah. Amen. David Cordier 1815.
[in right bird]
Adorn all you doings with honesty. Consider first the last instructions, because first done and later thought about has brought great suffering to many. David.

Notes:
Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur, with citations, dates and signatures in German and Roman script, is enclosed in several frames, including three circles in the center and the bodies of two large outward-facing birds on the sides. In the area between the frames are leafy stems of flowers, rosettes, stars and small birds, and in the center and top center are three small faces. The entire document is executed in a monochromatic brown typical of Cordier’s known work. Approximately one dozen fraktur by Cordier are known; no locations are recorded on any of them.
