Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. This is the cover of a Writing Exercise Booklet (Vorschriften Büchlein). The text within a heart is in the lower portion of the document. The first two lines are in Fraktur, and the remainder of the text is in German and Roman script. The heart is topped by a tree-like stem of various flowers. It is flanked by two inward-looking birds. The entire document is framed by a decorative border.
