Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur within a teardrop-shaped frame is in the lower portion of the document. The frame is surrounded by various decorative ornaments. Beneath it are four trees. Above the frame separated by a horizontal border is a bird. It is flanked by leafy stems of flowers. The entire document is enclosed by a decorative border. This bookplate has been removed from the hymnal for which it was made. David Kulp was formerly known as the Brown Leaf Artist. Kulp made a decorative bookplate for a tunebook for Ullrich Hackmann in 1802 that identifies Hackmann as a pupil in the Deep Run School of Bedminster Township, Bucks County. See Amsler, Bucks County Fraktur, p. 157.
