Translation:

all for us poor children of men, so that we could become holy. Note, that when we keep the faith in him and follow after him, think just a thousand times about what an indescribably great comfort we have in our dear God. Human comfort and help is good, but God’s comfort and help is better. Note, God’s little well has water in abundance. Note, the word amen means and signifies that everything we have said before is certainly true. I then will say in short, we should pray, for we are all mortal and do not know how soon. I am here, God be with me. Amen. In the year 1862, David Bixler.

Notes:

Hand-lettered. The text extends across the entire document. It is frame by a decorative border. This is the reverse of FLP 331. According to Frederick S. Weiser, the phrase in the text “Gottes Brünnlein hat Wasser \ die Fülle, Amen (God’s little well has water in abundance, Amen)” is a Mennonite table grace.
