Diesen beyden Ehegatten, als Jacob \ Best und seiner ehelichen Haus-Frau Catharina eine geborne Seibin, ist \ eine Tochter zur Welt geboren den 25ten May im Jahr Christi 1809 in \ Mountplesent Taunschip Columbia Caunty und wurde getauft von Herrn \ Pfarrer Friederich Engel, die dazugebetene Taufzeugen waren Casper \ Rohn und seine eheliche Hauß=frau Magdalena, und haben ihr den \ beygelegt als Magdalena.
Lehrt die Völker, taufet die, welche glaubig werden wollen; Kündigt allen an, \ daß sie ewig selig werden sollen. Jesus sprachs, und er ist mein; Ewig werd \ ich selig sein.  

Translation:

To these two married people namely Jacob Best and his lawful wife Catharina, a born Seibin, a daughter was born into the world on the 25th of May in the year of Christ 1809, in Mount Pleasant Township, Columbia County, and was baptized by Mister Pastor Friederich Engel. The requested sponsors were Casper Rohn and his lawful wife Magdalena, and have given her [the name] Magdalena.
Teach the people, baptize those who want to become believers. Announce to everyone that they will become blessed forever. Jesus said so and he is mine. I will be blessed forever.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur within a rectangular frame is in the lower center of the document. It is surrounded on the sides and top by leafy stems of tulips as well as two rosettes. The entire document is framed by a decorative border.
