This Philadelphia Inquirer photograph, taken by photographer Ron Tarver, shows Santos and La Tuna, a band from San Juan, playing Latin favorites on a float on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, during the Puerto Rican Day Parade, on September 27, 1987.  This celebration of Puerto Rican and Latino heritage and culture was begun in 1962, and hosts hundreds of performers, local celebrities and youth groups.
