"This paper book was made up by the late Charles Dickens at the end of the year 1859 when he was kind enough to me lessons in shorthand. A large part of it is in my writing, probably from is dicatation, but the "combinations" were written by him. His handwriting will be easily recognised. Arthur P. Stone."
