Hand-drawn; hand-colored. In the center of the document is a deer. In the upper right corner are several flowers. The document is framed by a decorative border.
The deer relates closely to a more elaborate drawing of a deer, flowers, and angel dated 1789 and attributed to Johann Adam Eyer. See Weiser, "IAE SD...," p. 469.
Small drawings, often lacking inscriptions and referred to as bookmarks by collectors, were given by schoolmasters to their students as rewards for good behavior and scholastic accomplishments.
