A CONNECTED Draught of three tracts of Land Surveyed and \ Divided off for Daniel Oyster the above Described tracts of Land, Situate in Upper Mahanoy Township, in the County \ of Northumberland and this Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The tract in the above Diagram Marked with the Letter \ A. Surveyed the fourth Day of February, Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight as part of the South East end \ of a tract of Wood Land, formerly the property of Jacob Oyster deceased, the said part Containing fifty Acres and one hundred fifty= \ two Perches and three quarters and Allowance of six hundred. The tract in the above Diagram Marked with the Letter \ B. Surveyed the second Day of February, Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight to the above \ said Daniel Oyster as part of a tract of Land holden by George Cambel, the said mentioned and Described part Con= \ taining thirty eight Acres seventy two Perches and a half and Allowance of six per hundred. And the Tract in the above \ Diagram Marked with the Letter C Surveyed the first Day of February, Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred \ and twenty eight to the above said Daniel Oyster as part of the West end of the Real Estate of Jacob Oyster deceased the \ Mentioned and above Described part Containing forty Acre fifty four Perches and Allowance of six per hundred. \ A B and C Together Containing One Hundred and twenty nine Acres and one hundred and nineteen Perches and a quar= \ ter and the Usual Allowance of six per hundred for Road &c. \ John Paul Jun’r.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text in Fraktur and Roman print is in the lower portion of the document. Above it is a map of a land tract with the names of the property owners, distances and landmarks in Fraktur. According to John A. H. Sweeny, John Paul Junior was a talented craftsmen who was the designer of the famed Horseshoe Curve on the Pennsylvania Railroad (Winterthur Illustrated, p. 174). The transcription of the text in this document is limited to the main text and the names of property owners noted in the diagram.
