Notes:

The 1929 photograph shown here is page four, from an 11-page pamphlet titled "A Memorial on the Moving of St. Clement's Church, Philadelphia," created by the Vestry Committee of St. Clement's Church.   Rather than demolish this huge 19th century building, to accommodate the widening of 20th Street (as the Benjamin Franklin Parkway development project demanded), the church officials decided to move St. Clement's the necessary 40 feet to the west!

**NOTE**:  To view the rest of the pamphlet, please click on the “View PDF” button.  The PDF has detailed information and additional fascinating pictures of the ambitious move.
