Translation:
O Lord, stand by us with your mercy. Anno 1730.
Not every man to be a teacher, and do you know that the more judgment we pass the more manifold judgment we arouse. But whoever is not wanting in any word is a complete man and can also keep his entire body under control. Look, we control the horses so that they obey us, guide the entire body. Look at the ships, even if they are large and driven by strong winds, they are nevertheless directed by a little rudder to where the one controlling them wants them to go. So also is the tongue a little limb and does great things. Look a little fire. St. Job Chapter.
