This knot of love which I do send is like me love without an end heres turns and crosses many you see so hath your love entangled me and bound me fast in Culits [Cupid’s] Chains naught but your love can ease my pains, so now my love come pitty me and out of trouble set me free, my thoughts by day and dreams by night are place’d on you my heart’s delight mountains shall melt the seas run dry the stars run lawless through the sky, the sun at midnight shall appear, ere I prove false to you my dear my dearest dear if you’l incline to ease this lovesick heart of mine and do agree to be my bride then keep this knot till tothers [our’s] tied but if these lines you do disdain pray send it back to me Again so I conclude and wright [write] no more farewell my dear whom I adore

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Roman script runs through four intertwined hearts in the center and straight and angled borders along the sides. The title in large script is on top. Entire item framed by border of flowering vines. Small stemmed flowers and hearts throughout, as well as a circle in the center.
