Diesen bey de ehgatten als Friedrich Leininger und \ seiner ehlichen Haus Frau Barbara biewerin ist ein Tochter \ Eleise zur Welt gebohren als ist zur Welt gebo= \ hren im Jahr unsers Herr Jesu 1813 den 6den \ Januari Tag um 11 Uhr abends im [blank] zeichen de Tauf \ zeugen war Sichman Wirlie [?] und seine frau Elisabeth. \ Mithin diese in den gnaden bund Gottes ein be= \ leibet und von Herrn Ulrich Prediger und Diener des \ Worts Gottes den 21 den hornung Tag getauft und \ genennet worden wie oben gemeldet oben ge= \ meldete ist gebohren in America im staat Pennselvani \ in Berchs Caunti in Heidelberg Taunschip.


Translation:

To these two married people, namely Friedrich Leininger und his lawful wife Barbara biewerin was born a daughter Eleise into the world; was born into the world in the year of our Lord Jesus 1813, the 6th of January at 11 o’clock in the evening in the sign of [blank]. The sponsors were Sichman Wirlie [?] and his wife Elisabeth. Through which she was incorporated into God’s covenant of grace and Mister Ulrich, preacher and servant of God’s word, baptized and named her as mentioned above, on the 21st of February. Above mentioned was born in America, in the state of Pennsylvania, in Berks County, in Heidelberg Township.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text, in Fraktur with personal information infilled in German script, is within a decorated border. Rosettes are at the bottom center and bottom corners. Leafy vines with rosettes springing from a checked pot are on both sides, and tulip vines are in the upper corners. A cross-legged angel, with wings spread out and arms extended, is in the top center, flanked by two birds perched on leafy stems of tulips.
