Anna Deibler was born the 4th of October, in the year of the Lord 1829, in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, in the state of Pennsylvania. The parents are Matthias Deibler and Catharina, born Matter. The sponsors were the parents. Baptized on the 4th of January 1830 by Pastor Schindel.

Anna Deibler was born into this world to the Christian parents Matthias Deibler and Catharina, born Matter, the 4th October in the year of the Lord 1829 in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, in the state of Pennsylvania. She was incorporated into the community of Christ through the holy baptism, to which the parents were the sponsors. On the 4th of January 1830, she was baptized by the honorable Mister Johann Peter Schindel.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text in Fraktur is within an oval frame, above which the recipient’s name is written in large letters. Flowering vines and other decorative elements are protruding from a pot in the bottom center of the document. Above it is a flowering wreath with the secondary text. In the lower corners are small wreaths with additional text. The document is decorated with a profusion of flowers, some of which are in pots and vases or urns. The main text is flanked by two angels or putti holding stems of flowers. The entire document is enclosed by a decorative border. The artist’s signature and date of creation is on the bottom edge.The Winterthur Museum owns the birth and baptismal certificate of a Matthias Deibler born in 1794, probably the father of Anna Deibler for whom this certificate was made.
