Translation:

To these two married people, namely Henrich Lantz and his bodily wife Margaretha, a born Sigfriedin, Reformed religion, a son was born into the world, named Daniel, was born in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 1782, the 10 February at 11 o’clock in the evening in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, in the state of Pennsylvania, and was subsequently [added in pencil:] (died August 10 1847) brought to the holy baptism, and baptized before Mister Helffrig, servant of God’s Word. The requested sponsors were Daniel Levan and his wife Magdalena and gave him the name Daniel.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The central text in Fraktur is enclosed within circular frame with scalloped borders, flanked by two flowering vines. Additional verse from Ecclesiastes 12:1 is in a small heart at the bottom center. Two angels holding flowers are in the upper corners and at the top center are two birds and a vine, all enclosed in a circle. The owner’s death date is penciled between the lines of the central text.
