Translation:
To these two married people, namely Johan Wetzel and his bodily wife Catharina, a born Schmidtin, Lutheran religion, a daughter was born into the world, named Judith, was born in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 1794, the 27 June at 12 o’clock in the night in Macungie Township, Northampton County, in the state of Pennsylvania, and was subsequently on the 17 April brought to the holy baptism, and baptized by Mister Buskirg, servant of God’s Word. Notes:
Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The central text in Fraktur is enclosed within circular frame decorated with scalloped borders and rosettes, flanked by two small birds and flowering vines. Additional verse is in a small heart at the bottom center. Two angels holding flowers are in the upper corners and at the top center are two birds and a vine, all enclosed in a circle.
