George Gery ist Gebohren \ Von Christlichen und Ehelichen Eltern \ in Oberhanover Taunschip, Montgomery Caunty, den 6^ten Aprill 1794, und ist ihm der \ Christliche Name beygelegt worden, Von dem Ehrwürdigen Herrn Pfarren Johannes Fawer \ den 8^ten Junius 1794, und seine Tauffzeigen sind Peter Gery und seine Eheliche Hauß= \ frau, Margaretha, des Kindes Vater ist Johannes Gery, ein Sohn des alten \ Jacob Gery, des Kindes Mutter ist eine Gebohrne Namens Susanna \ Wiegnerin eine Tochter des Alten Georg Wiegner \ 1796

Translation:

George Gery was born to Christian and married parents in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County, on the 6^th of April 1794, and the Christian name was given to him by the honorable mister pastor Johannes Fawer on the 8^th of June 1794, and his sponsors are Peter Gery and his lawful wife Margaretha, the child’s father is Johannes Gery, a son of the old Jacob Gery, the child’s mother is a born named Susaanna Wiegnerin, daughter of the old Georg Wiegner, 1796.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text, with the first two lines in Fraktur and the body in German script, is within a rectangular frame, bordered by flowers and hearts. The frame is surrounded by flowers, rosettes, geometric shapes or diamonds, tulips and fans. The entire document is framed by a border of undulating vines, rosettes and hearts.
