Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The first three words of the central text are in prominent, decorated letters in fraktur, with the following two lines in fraktur and the remainder of the text in German script. The first letter, which is in the upper left corners and enclosed in a square frame, is ornately decorated with leaves and flowers. One hymn is in a heart in the lower left corner within a square frame. Three stemmed flowers protrude from the top of the heart, and two additional flowers are beneath it. The hymns in the central text are in the Mennonite Franconia hymnal (Die Kleine Geistliche Harfe der Kinder Zions [Germantown, 1803]) and Lancaster hymnal (Ein Unpartheyisches Gesangbuch [Lancaster, 1804]). The hymn paraphrased in the heart is in the Franconia hymnal.
