Johan Was born in the state of Pennsylvania, in Lehigh County, in Maccungie Township, in the year after Christ’s birth 1813 [corrected in pencil: 1810], the 17th day December, was soon after baptized by Mister Pastor Heinin. Parents are David Vegele and his wife Susanna. Sponsors were Peter Vegele and his wife Elisabetha.
